Bilal’s eccentric artistry finally gets the mainstream respect it deserves

Sure I missed out on Bilal’s debut 1st Born Second but, things changed once I got a chance to review the breathtaking Airtight’s Revenge. In fact, it was one of my favorite albums of the last five years because “Levels” and “Flying” stay in heavy rotation on whatever player I’m using at the time. It lead me to a pretty awesome interview too.  A few years later, I would call Bilal’s  recently released  A Love Surreal  easier to digest . On an important note, dude puts on a dope live show.

It’s glad with the success of A Love Surreal, it’s lead him to even gain a larger audience with his second appearance alongside Talib Kweli on Jimmy Fallon.
